Karan Rudra, A coach with a Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics describes this with RECITE YOU, he shares his fitness insights, lessons learned, and advice on how to make fitness a sustainable, enjoyable part of your life.
I wasn’t always into fitness!!
When asked what motivated you to make a move towards the fitness field, Karan recalls his own early struggles. He says, “To move ahead in this field was my own health transformation, I was struggling with own fitness issues that has led me into this field where, I started focussing on effective exercises and dietary approaches for my overall health and well-being.
People are now more aware of their health issues and very initially work towards holistic health approach as mental health and well-being is equally important as physical fitness.
“Over the years, my journey has evolved from a focus on physical fitness to a holistic view of health, incorporating mental and emotional wellness. Today, I feel happy and dedicated to helping others achieve their health goals, drawing from my experiences and knowledge.” shares Karan.
Some Common Mistakes
While discussing about some common mistakes that we unknowingly make. Karan Rudra has often observed people making are –
“One of the biggest mistakes is setting unrealistic goals,” he says. “People often aim for quick results, but fitness is a long-term commitment you should be patient with yourself.”
He advises against neglecting nutrition. “Some people focus too much on workouts and ignore their diet. But what you eat plays a huge role in your overall progress.”
Other mistakes include inconsistency, overexertion, and not tracking progress. “Skipping workouts, doing too much too soon, and not keeping track of your achievements can really set you back. Also, people have started comparing their lives with that of others and comparison is something that is not good for you and your health as everybody’s fitness journey is unique and that comparison will however discourage you. It is recommended to cultivate a positive attitude.
He also stresses the importance of recovery. “People forget how crucial rest is. Without it, you risk injury and burnout.”
Long-Term Fitness
When asked about what should be vision behind the long-term fitness?
The key to long-term fitness is consistency paired with balance. “Consistency is everything,” you should be consistent in your efforts. he speaks. It is advisable to have a good routine so that none of your task is left unfinished. But it also has to be sustainable.” He advises finding activities that you enjoy to make a part of your lifestyle.
Karan also highlights the importance of rest and mental well-being. “It’s not just about exercise. You need proper nutrition, enough rest, and mental health practices to maintain balance.”
Balancing Own Fitness Goals
He tells us that he often integrates his own workouts into client sessions. For Balancing the demands of training clients with my own fitness goals involves careful planning and prioritization. So, I try to schedule my workouts just like client sessions to ensure, I have dedicated time for myself and my own fitness.
Even flexibility plays a crucial role, both in workouts and in life. He believes adapting to changing circumstances and adjusting routines as needed is crucial for long-term success and consistency in fitness.
He explains “It’s ok when the things sometimes don’t go planned there are few days that goes unplanned and it is not something a hard thing to always worry. I adjust my schedule as needed and set realistic goals to stay motivated.”
Lastly, prioritizing rest and recovery is essential for maintaining my energy and effectiveness as a trainer.

When asked how people can stay motivated during their fitness journey, Karan offers some practical tips. Here are those important tips:
Set Small, Achievable Goals: Break larger goals into manageable milestones to celebrate progress along the way.
Find a Workout Buddy: Partnering with someone can boost accountability and make workouts more enjoyable.
Mix It Up: Vary your workouts to keep things fresh and exciting. Try new classes or activities.
Track Your Progress: Keeping a journal or using an app can help visualize your achievements and maintain motivation.
Remember Your “Why”: Reflect on the reasons you started your journey to help rekindle your motivation during tough times.
Reward Yourself: Treat yourself to something enjoyable when you reach milestones, like new workout gear or a fun outing.
Stay Flexible: Life can be unpredictable; adjust your routine as needed and don’t be too hard on yourself if you miss a workout.
