Born and brought up in Meghalaya, Joycy Lyngdoh has always loved vehicles and long journeys, she never thought she would one day be driving heavy trucks for a living. As destiny has always a different plan that one may have planned!
However, for a woman it is difficult to break the societal barriers but Joycy with her determination pushed her to break through societal barriers. She believes that if a woman truly wants to achieve something, nothing can stop her from achieving.
How Joycy Lyngdoh Broke Barriers and Pursued Her Dreams
Life is full of challenges so for Joycy also. As the only earning member in her family, she supports her mother and three younger sisters. After finishing school, she worked at a steel company and later as a store manager in Guwahati. These jobs helped her make ends meet, but they didn’t fulfil her dreams. Her passion for driving kept growing.
There is always someone to motivate you towards achieving your goals. With encouragement from friends, Joycy learned how to drive. Her first driving job was operating a school bus with that she gained confidence in her and took up temporary driving jobs across the city. Over time, she mastered handling large vehicles, leading the way for greater opportunities.
When you stick in your goals, even destiny makes a plan for you. The same worked for Joycy. Her love for driving led her to a life – changing opportunity—becoming a trucking partner with Amazon. She quickly adapted to the company’s operational standards and has now been delivering goods in and around Guwahati for over a year.
